    Frequently Asked Membership Questions:

What if there is more than one person in my household?
Residential dues are per person. If more than one person in your household wishes to become a member, you will have to pay dues individually.

What if I own a business and also live in NoDa?
You can purchase membership at the business level or at the resident level. In fact, you can purchase two memberships! However, during an Association meeting, only one vote per person will be counted, but a business may appoint another person to represent its vote.

What is Historic North Charlotte Neighborhood Association (HNCNA) vs. NoDa NBA?
HNCNA was founded in Feb. 2001 to support the historic neighborhood of North Charlotte. The NC Secretary of State and federal IRS recognize us under this official name. For visibility and branding purposes, HNCNA legally does business as NoDa Neighborhood and Business Association in Mecklenburg County, NC.

    Are my dues tax deductible?
Yes! Dues and donations to the Association are tax-deductible. HNCNA is a federally recognized 501(c)3 charitable organization. Many corporations will match gifts and time contributions to the Association, so ask your employer about corporate matching!
