Back in the Day was formed to preserve the history of NoDa, past and present, and to put together a framework for future generations to do the same. We actively conduct interviews with long time residents, formative people who made NoDa NoDa, and the regular awesome people who live here. Know someone with a good NoDa story to tell? Let us know! In the near future we will have podcasts of some of the interviews to date. We also collect news articles, photos, flyers, shirts, buttons, witticisms and insults that pertain to NoDa. If you have anything you would like to see preserved – again, please let us know!

The Greenification committee is THE organization to be involved in for all things green.  We are the cultivators of an eco-friendly NoDa neighborhood. From organizing neighborhood trash pick-ups and stream clean-ups, hosting “How To” classes in composting and gardening, and honoring neighbors with the Golden Hoe Green Yard of the Month award, to involvement with the City of Charlotte’s Neighborhood Energy Challenge grant, the Greenification Committee is NoDa’s source for environmental activism. Join us at a meeting, or check us out online to find out how you can get involved to better our wonderful world of NoDa.

  • Noda-Business

Mission: The NBC is designed to act as a conduit for maximizing efforts for our business district and to help us better connect with our neighbors and residence within NoDa and Charlotte at large.

Meets: 2nd Monday of every month at 4:00pm at the Evening Muse.

    Chairman: Joe Kuhlmann

    Board Liaison: Kevin Sutton

NoDa's business district is on the verge of a major growth spurt, like nothing we have seen in NoDa before. Many new residential options are on the horizon; the Blue Line Extension (light rail) is going to be here very soon; major construction projects impacting parking & traffic are about to get started. If we can be aware and stay ahead of some of these issues, then we will be better prepared to deal with them and have a more favorable outcome and income for our district.

  • NodaNewsMission: To inform NoDa neighbors and visitors of positive and relevant information that contributes to the energy and excitement of NoDa via monthly newsletter, facebook, twitter, and website.

    Meets: No regular meetings.

Staff: Lauren Schalburg, Evan Plante, Tony Ross

We outsource the design, printing, and distribution of our publication as well as social media management. While we do not meet on a monthly basis, we are in constant contact via email and respond to inquiries and requests daily.

We produce a monthly newspaper 100% funded through ad sales, and we manage noda.org, as well as NoDa's twitter account, instagram account, and facebook page(s). We are currently looking for anyone interested in contributing content or otherwise being involved in NoDa news!

Anyone may submit content for the NoDa News. Content is due on or before the 15th of the month for the following month’s publication. If you submit an article it must be relevant to NoDa, 300 words or less, and include a headline and byline. Please also include a logo or photos to go along with your article. All content is printed subject to the discretion of the NoDa News editor.

Neighbors love us. Artists adore us. Everyone else wants to be us. We are NoDaRioty, the committee that celebrates gritty. Where the rebellious attitude of NoDa meets the creative world and spits out a neighborhood notorious for art and music. We preserve NoDa’s artistic roots, promote emerging artists and ideas, and provoke the world to think differently about art. We partner with Neighborhood Theatre to provide the All Arts Market to help rising artists have an affordable place to sell and showcase their work.

NoDaRioty is currently looking for new leadership and active members. Contact us by email if you are interested in becoming involved.
