Amelie's Now Open 24-7
Extended hours at popular NoDa eatery fill void, cater to late-night crowd
(Charlotte, NC) - Amelie's... a French Bakery, located in NoDa, is now serving customers 24 hours, seven days a week. The new hours started last Friday.
"The idea was inspired by my niece, who lives in New York City and regularly visits a 24-hour bakery," says co-owner Lynn St. Laurent. "We thought 'Would that make sense for us?' Yes, for so many reasons. Our increased production schedule means we're in the bakery longer, and the city needs more options at night."
With a limited number of all-night establishments in Charlotte, the new 24-7 schedule caters to an after-hours crowd that includes students, theater-goers and the growing numbers who frequent the Uptown entertainment scene.
"With less than a week under our belt, we've already been embraced by policemen and hospital employees," says St. Laurent of third-shift workers already making regular stops by the bakery. "We just want to continue to get the word out."
Amelie's menu includes pastries, chocolate desserts, eclairs and cream puffs, fresh fruit tarts, assorted croissants and cakes. Breakfast savories, handcrafted breads, homemade soups, tartines and sandwiches are also available. The bakery also offers free WiFi and free parking.
Centrally located two miles north of Center City on N. Davidson Street, Amelie's is just minutes from Uptown and the University area.
